Santo André 2-3 Santos
Santos put one hand on the Campeonato Paulista after a devastating 12 minute second half spell gave them a first game advantage over Santo André. Santo André went into the break ahead when Bruno Cesar gave them the lead from a free kick after 34 minutes but they squandered more than enough good chances to double their lead.
Santos though took the bull by the horns and André headed them level after 57 minutes. Four minutes later and Santos were ahead after catching Santo André on the break and Wesley fired home. With 18 mintues to go, Santos doubled their advantage, Wesley getting his second of the game after beating the Santo André offside trap. Toninho was then sent off for Santo André but then ten men gave themselves a fighting chance in next weeks second game when Rodriguinho pulled a goal back that he knew little about eight minutes from time. Santos though, will be favourites to claim their 18th State title.
In the Torneo Interior a 68th minute goal from Hugo was enough to give São Caetano a slender lead to take into the second leg against Botafogo SP. The conclusion of the Campeonato Paulista comes next weekend with the second legs of both finals.
