Name Change

It has been bought to out attention that Barueri are no more. The club still exsists but they have moved their base to Presidente Prudente. This move has come after a misunderstanding between the club and the city of Barueri and was formalized at the end of last month.

The club will now play their home games at the Estádio Eduardo José Farah in Presidente Prudente, this venue is normally used for the clashes between Palmeiras and Corinthians to prevent any trouble when the game is staged. The club have moved from the outskirts of São Paulo some 600km into the hinterland and they will now be known as Grêmio Prudente but for reasons of ease and to avoid confusion when Série A starts we will refer to them as Prudente. They will now ground share the 44,414 capacity Prudentão, as it is known, with Oeste.
