Campeonato Brasileiro Série A Week 24 Part 2

Coritiba 1-1 Corinthians

In the hang over game from Week 24 it was honours even in Curitiba between Coritiba and Corinthians. The Corinthians goalkeeper Felipe was in action early with a good save before Souza hit the woodwork for the visitors. It was the home side though who took the lead on 27 minutes, Jaílton left unmarked at the back post to head home his second goal of the season. Corinthians had a great chance to level before half time but Edson Bastos in the Coritiba goal pulled of a remarkable save to send his team in ahead at half time. The lead lasted only five minutes into the second half, Souza's cross was converted at the back post by Denthino for this sixth goal of the season. The visitors pressed for the winner but the Corotiba defence held firm under the pressure to leave both teams unchanged as league postitions go.
