Santo André picked up what could be a valuable point in their fight against the drop away at Portuguesa. There were no goals in the game, a result which doesn't help Portuguesa's top eight ambitions. Grêmio Prudente were another side to get an away draw in their fight against the drop, but they let a lead slip at Noroeste. The home side were ahead within two minutes thanks to Tiago Ulisses but Grêmio Prudente levelled a minute before the break through Alexsandro. Assis Mota put Botafogo ahead seven minutes after the break but they suffered a blow when Eduardo Dida was sent off eight minutes before time. That setback didn't prevent Botafogo making sure of the victory when João Henrique struck in injury time. Ituano hauled themselves out of the relegation zone when they held on for victory at Ponte Preta.
