2011 Copa Libertadores Draw

With most teams still yet to qualify the draw for the 52nd edition of the Copa Santader Libertadores took place at CONMEBOL headquarters in Asunción today. We'll bring you the draw as much as we can at the moment and try to fill in the blanks. It'll all become clearer in the next few weeks and of course we will bring you right up to date as soon as we can.

12 teams enter in the qualifying round with 26 teams going straight into the group phase. Brazil have six entries this year, with holders Internacional guaranteed the chance to defend their title. Argentina have five entries and the rest of the associations, plus invitees Mexico have three qualifiers each.

Game 6: Brasil 6+ v Liverpool (Uruguay)

* if Independiente wins the 2010 Copa Sudamericana they will take this spot, if not the 3rd best 2010 aggregate among non-champions will.
+ if Goiás wins the 2010 Copa Sudamericana they will take this spot, if not the fourth placed team in Série A will.

We expect the qualifying competition to start week beginning 17th January.
