Copa Libertadores Final 1st Leg

CD Guadalajara 1-2 SC Internacional

Internacional came from a goal down to secure a vital 2-1 away win over Guadalajara in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final. Guadalajara took the lead just before half time after Renan was beaten by a looping header from the edge of the penalty area by Adolfo Bautista. It was a goal against the run of play, Inter had much the better of the chances, with Kleber and Alecsandro both rattling the Guadalajara woodwork.

But the 2006 Champions, turned the game around after the break with two quick goals. Firstly Giuliano headed past Luis Michel from near the penalty spot in the 72nd minute to level matters and four minutes later captain Bolivar put Inter ahead from an Andres D'Alessandro cross. It silenced the vociferous home fans in the brand new Omnilife Stadium as they couldn't believe the four minutes they had seen, but left the small pocket of Inter fans, who had probably moved heaven and earth to get to Mexico, in raptures. The return leg is in Porto Alegre at a sure to be sold out Beira-Rio next week.
